West Ryde Community Centre

The West Ryde Community Centre is a component of the broader West Ryde Urban Village Development. This building forms the developer contribution component of a land exchange with the City of Ryde. The building facilities provide a Community Hall, Early Childhood Health Clinic, Long Day Care Services, Family Support Services, Retail Outlets and a Family Day Care Facility. There is an additional level of commercial space and two levels of basement car parking.

This building involved a large number of stakeholder groups. AVA with the developer worked extensively with each group to ensure that the brief requirement of each of the groups was accommodated.

Equity of access was also a very high priority in this project. The City of Ryde have an active Access Committee with whom we toured local shopping centres to gain insight into design issues that are of key concern.
